Comprehensive Energy Plan Benefits
In 2004, KCP&L engaged in a highly collaborative process with the community, customers and regulators to develop a regional Comprehensive Energy Plan. The plan was created with a number of short- and long-term goals. We're happy to report we're near the successful completion of this plan.
- Providing the electricity we need to support our local economy in the future
- Maintaining competitive electric rates
- Continuing to deliver reliable service
- Balancing the benefits of renewable energy with the stability of clean coal generation
- Responding to rapidly evolving environmental laws and regulations with flexible and sustainable solutions
These rate increase requests are the fourth and final ones associated with our Comprehensive Energy Plan. Prior to 2006, KCP&L had not raised rates in 20 years. Below are pricing histories for KCP&L's four service areas: KCP&L Kansas KCP&L Missouri; KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations (GMO) - Missouri Public Service (MPS); and KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations (GMO) - St. Joseph Light and Power (L&P).
